Finished up urology rotation last week. I now have an excess of penis jokes in my arsenal but with very few people to share them with. I didn’t expect to get into urology much, but it was surprisingly pretty interesting. Maybe my expectations are just too low. One of the more controversial-ish surgeries I saw was a prosthetic penile implant. See here, how the penis when inflated can become rigid and functional. Unfortunately, all the surgery in the world will not help with girth or length. Buyer beware.
Otherwise urology was pretty much Kidney stones, Prostate Cancer, Nephrectomies, Bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, and LOTS of BPH with a healthy smattering of hematuria. Cool stuff.
Next, onto working with the other brain (psych)!
